Clajon, William, (MSA SC5300-74),  was in Maryland by 14 Nov 1754 when H. Addison, living on the Potomac, advertised that Clajon was living at his house and would teach French, Greek, Latin and Italian. Clajon had been born in Paris and was a Protestant, and had taught French for some time in London (AMG 14 Nov 1754). Clajon, who lived at Rev. Addison's (who recommended him) has been hired by Mr. Wilmot as an Assistant in the Public School in Annapolis. Clajon will also keep an Evening School (AMG, 20 Nov 1755). William advertised he would teach French in Annapolis  He advertised he would teach English grammar at the Free School in Annapolis, but since he was a foreigner, he would not teach pronunciation (Mr. Wilmot would continue to teach that). Clajon would continue to teach French, Latin and Greek (AMG 12 Feb 1756, 28 April 1757).
