Internet Sites Maintained by the Archives

Comptroller of the Treasury

The Archives has been working with the Comptroller's staff at the Annapolis Data Center to develop a new web presence which will greatly expand access to information and forms for for the public and business.

Our technical staff has modeled the server load requirements to support 3,000 to 6,000 inquiries per day and to distribute 1,800 Mb of material. This is the equivalent of 12,000 sets of tax forms and instructions each day.

The servers will be placed at the Archives on the outside of the firewall and will be accessible through Sailor. In turn the Archives has established internal communications through the fiber network in the Complex to provide Internet access for the offices of the Comptroller.

We expect this service will be widely used, particularly from Maryland's libraries which heretofore have been stocking paper forms for distribution.
