Biography:

Charles D. Barrow was a property owner who lived on Kent Island, Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. Barrow also owned property in Talbot County, where he once resided on a farm situated along the Wye River. The slaves were taken to a British vessel in the Chesapeake Bay that was under the command of John Borlase Warren.

Following the war, American citizens filed claims with the Department of State for the loss of property that was taken or destroyed by the British. Charles Barrow submitted his claim with supporting depositions for the the loss of his enslaved woman Line Pearce and her child.
