Escaped from St. Mary's County, Maryland, 1813

Biography:

James escaped from Caleb Jones' farm in St. Mary's County on August 22, 1813. He and four other slaves—Job, Peter, Luce, and Suckey—went to British forces, who had come ashore to Jones house that day.1
