Attached is a scan of a lithograph of the U.S. General Hospital Division No. 1 in the Ely papers. Our copy of this illustration appears to have been cut from a piece of stationery that it once headed. The credit line should read: Edward G. Miner Library, University of Rochester Medical Center, N.Y. We would appreciate receiving a copy of the brochure when printed. Please let me know if you have any further questions or requests. The Maryland State Archives is producing an educational brochure in honor of the Lincoln Bicentennial. The brochure will discuss Lincoln traveling through Annapolis on the way to the Hampton Roads Peace Conference in Ft. Monroe, VA. This brochure is being sponsered by the Friends of the Maryland State Archives and the City of Annapolis and is not for profit. We would like to use two images from the Ely collection: the photo of the Hospital Band, and the drawing of U.S. General Hospital Div. No. 1 as interior illustrations in the brochure. If you are willing to grant us permission, can you please provide the proper citations and credit lines for these items. Also, with respect to the U.S. General Hospital Div. No. 1 drawing, do you have the original of this or only a photo? If you have the original, do you have the letter that appears below the drawing (as this was stationary used in the hospitals)? If you have the original and/or the letter, is there any way we could get a scan of the image? Thank you very much for your assistance. Sincerely, Emily Oland Squires Maryland State Archives USGenHosp.jpg Content-Description: USGenHosp.jpg Content-Type: image/jpeg Content-Encoding: base64
