The foregoing motion was carried. Dr. Remsen moved that the resignation of Carville D. Benson, as Counsel to the State Roads Commission, submitted on April 22nd, be accepted, to take effect May 1, 1912. The motion being seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, was adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the matter of the claim of the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County for payment on the Brookville Road, Contract #141, be referred to Counsel for opinion. The motion being seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, was adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the reoomnendation of the Chief 3ngineer of April 27th, 1912, that the tine for the completion of the Sharptown Bridge (Contract #0262) by the Roanoke Bridge Company, be extended to July 1, 1912, be approved. The motion being seconded by Mr. Lloyd, was adopted. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Dr. Remsen, the final estimate on Contract f017B of the D. M. Andrew Contracting Company, amounting to $839.13, was approved for payment. IJr. Button moved that a warrant be drawn on the Comptroller for the sura of $5,000., for expenses of supervision of State Aid Road work, in accordance with Chapter 225 of the Acts of 1904, as amended by Chapter 217 of the Acts of 1910. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and carried. It was moved by Dr. Remsen, seconded by ilr. Lloyd, acting upon advice of Counsel, that bills of the United Railways and Electric Company of April 12, 1912, amounting to $217.35, for labor, etc., in excavating earth to be replaced by ballast on Columbia Avenue, be not paid. Dr. Rensen moved that the reoomnendation of the Chief Sngineer that no change be made in the height of the Dover Bridge, as requested by Captain Wlllard Thomson of the B. C. & A. Rwy. Co. in his letter of April 22nd, 1912, be approved. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and carried. Mr. Button moved that the recommendation of the Chief Sngineer, that it is inadvisable at this time to build the State Road through the town of Westminster in Carroll County, as requested by Guy 57. Steele in his letter of April 16, 1912, be approved. The motion was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted.
