Mr, J. Kemp Bartlett, Counsel for D. V» Ault, contractor on a section of the Harford and ffeetport Roads, addressed the Commission with respect to claims for extra expense, etc., on the aforesaid roads, Contraots #0183 and #0181, and on motion of Dr. Rerisen, seconded by Mr. Button, the matter of the claims of Mr. Ault on the Harford and Westport Roads, was referred to the Chairman, Chief Engineer and Counsel of the Board, to see if they can be compromised, with authority to act, any compromise suggested by this Commission to the said Ault, not to in anywise prejudice the rights of the State Roads Commission in the event of Ault not accepting same.
Dr. Rensen moved that the authority requested by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County to open quarries and establish stone crushing stations, and to make contracts for hauling stone, be granted, on condition that the stone so contracted for shall not be more than sufficient for 2& miles of road from Darnestovra toward Dawsonville, and the contract shall be extended only to April 1st, 1913.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Lloyd, and adopted.
On motion of Dr. Herasen, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, the contract for a section of State Road #1, from about one mile south of Laurel to Beltsville, in Prince George's County (Contract #07B-010) was awarded to Messrs. Bush, Metier & Smith, at the amount of their bid, $52,507.80.
Mr. Lloyd moved that all bills, this day approved by the Aiiditing Committee, be paid. The motion was seconded "by Mr. Hutton, and adopted.
On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, the following estimates were approved for payment:
