contractor with enough stone to complete the work within the given tine.  It was the sense of the Commission that the Chairman write the Road Directors of Allegany County that this expense should be shared by the Road Directors and this Commission.
The Chief Engineer under date of October 2nd, 1911, recorn::ended that work bo accepted, payment made according to the final estimates, except as to liquidated damages, and the bonds released on the following contracts:

On motion of Llr. Shoemaker, seconded by Llr. Lloyd, the Chief Engineer's recommendations v/ere approved, and the Chairman authorised to sign statement to the Comptroller for the payment of the State's share of the final estimates on the above mentioned contracts, less liquidated damages, as stated.
On motion of Llr. Shoemaker, seconded by Llr. Lloyd, the Chairman v/as requested to advise the County Commissioners of Somerset Covjity that the State Roads Commission approves the advertisement and letting of Contract f,-253 S. A. R., Somerset County, if within o\tr Sngineer's Estimate.  In the event that a

County.        i'   alone, this Commission will approve same, provided the County constructs the road by force account or by sub-letting, and that the aggregate cost of the bridge and the road does not exceed our 3ngineer's estimate.
L report from the Chief Engineer concerning work by the Montgomery Coxmty forces on the Gaithersburg-Darnestown Hoad, (Contract 7?0251) , was submitted to the Board.  On motion of Mr.
Co. Comra'rs of Montgomery Co.    Shoemaker, seconded by Llr. Lloyd, the Chairman was requested to to be notified as to defects in  call the attention of the County Authorities to the defects in Gaithereburg-DarneBtown Hoad.    this contract, as set forth in the Engineer's report, and to
advise them that this Commission cannot accept the work under this contract until these defects are remedied.
On motion of Llr. Shoemaker, seconded by Llr. Hut ton, the Chairman's action as to the payment to E. P.. Arnold of §900., George IT. Fox $300., George White $80., -.7. T. Robinson $90. and $20. respectively, for damages to trees, etc., and Daniel ?.. Randall $61.60, for professional services and expenses in securing right-of-way through property of Caroline and Catherine Mittnacht, incident to the relocation of the Baltimore & Annapolis Boulevard, was approved, and he was authorized to advertise for bids for building the section of the Boulevard between Revell and Boone's Stations.
