RO.IA Page 365. Advertising for bids on Colb.Av. Permit for water main on Hela-terstown Turnpike. Agreement with Pennsyl.Steel Co. Warrant authorized. Resolution as to warrant rescinded. Delay of work on Frederick Macadam work on oontraot of 1.1.J.Grove Co. - Bo. 0242. Sxtensions of time* On motion of Mr. Mutton, seconded by Mr, Shoemaker, the Chairman's action in advertising for bids on a section of Columbia Avenue, about 570 feet in length, between the B. & 0. R. ?.. and Carroll Park, was approved. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Chairman be authorized to approve the granting of permit "by the Baltimore & Heisters-tovm Turnpike Hoad Co. to tho Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to construct a six inch v/ator main in the bed of the Reistorstovm Turnpike from the north side of Fourth Avenue to the north side of Gordon Lane, so far as this Commission has any rights in said Turnpike. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, the Chairman was authorized to execute agreement under date of September 28th, 1911, between the Pennsylvania Steel Company and the State Hoads Commission, covering special work for First Street, Brooklyn. Governor Orothers moved that the Chairman be authorized to draw his warrant on tho Comptroller of the Treasury in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.) to cover expenses of State Aid ,/ork ; and that the resolution passed by the Board at its meeting of September 21st, authorizing the Chairman's warrant on the Comptroller for $5,OuO. be rescinded. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and adopted. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Hr. Shoe- . maker, the Secretary to the Commission was instructed to reply to a communication under date of September 27th, from the Board of Estimates, asking that work be deferred on the portion of the Frederick Road that would interfere with the work of the Sewerage Commission, stating in such reply that it is the sense of this Commission to avoid any delay on this work. The LI. J. Grove Lime Company under date of September 30th, requested the Commission to permit the continuation of macadam vvork on their contract #0242 in Frederick County after November 1st. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, the Chairman was requested to advise the IĞI. J. Grove Lime Co. that the State P.oads Commission is unwilling to modify the clause in its specifications terminating macadam work for the year on Hovernber 1st. The Ch;:.irman stated that he had applications for extensions of time on Contracts IIos.0241 and 0243 of Messrs. Coblentz & Xlipp, llos. 0271A and 0272 of the Hassam Paving Co., .
