A Special Meeting of the State Roads Commission was held at its offices in the Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Md., this Wednesday, October 4th, 1911, at 10:30 A. M.
Present: Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Shoemaker, Hutton and Lloyd.
The minutes of the previous mooting of the CominiE were read, corrected and approved.
On motion of Governor Crothors, seconded by I.lr. Hutton, the Chairman was authorized to take up the question of the anount of rent due for Rooms #501 and 502 Union Trust Building.
Mr. Shoenaker moved that the Final Estimate on Contract #0102 in Queen Anne's County (Church Kill-Centreville Hoad) be paid the Smpire State Surety Company, amounting to $5306.84, less liquidated damages amounting to $450., to cover the cost of extra inspection due to delay, as recomr.ended by the Chief Sngineer. motion was seconded by lir. Lloyd, and adopted.
Governor Crothers moved that the Final Sstiroute on Contract #0220 in Howard County ( Sykeeville-V/est Friendship Road) be paid M. Bennett & Sons, amounting to $7458.25, lose liquidated damages amounting to $280. for the extra expense of an inspector, as recommended by th« Chief Sngineer. The motion was seconded by Llr. Shoemaker, and adopted.
On motion of Mr. Shoenioker, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, the final estimate on Contract TfOlll in Talbot County (3a8ton-',7ye Kills Road) amounting to $6472.70 was ordered paid ffm. C. Evane, and the question of payment for 8 tone at Chapel Station belonging to Mr. SJvans, was referred to the Chairnan, with power.
Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Chairman be authorized to accept the work under Contract #155 S. A. R. in Washington County, (Zion Church Road) and forward to the Comptroller certificate for payment of the State's chare of said contract. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lloyd, and adopted.
On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, the final estimate on Contract #176 S. A. H. in Allegany County, (Corrigansville Hoad), Deokman & Forsythe, contractors, amounting to $2063.07, was approved.
Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Counsel to the Commission be
requested to search the title and advise the Board as to all easements now existing on the Reieteretown Turnpike. The motion was seconded, by Mr* Hutton, and adopted.
