Hauling outfit for Lkintenance Department. $6000. to be advanced on Contract #0183. A Special Meeting of the State P.oads Commies ion was held at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, IJd., this 'Wednesday, Soptember 6th, 1911, at ten o'clock A. LI. Present: Governor Crothere, Chairman Tucker, .Messrs. Shoemaker, Hutton and Lloyd. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were not read. Llr. Shoemaker moved that the Uayor be notified that the State Roads Commission agroes to accede to his suggestion as to the purchase of the City portion of the Eeisterstown Turnpike at a cost not exceeding $70.000. The notion was seconded "by Llr. Lloyd, and adopted. On motion of --r. Shoemaker, seconded by Llr. Hutton, the question of the purchase of a hauling outfit from II. C. Hunter for use of the Maintenance Department, was referred to the Chairman, with power. Llr. Shoemaker moved that the Chairman be authorized to advance to Llr. D. V. Ault, contractor, Five Thousand Dollars, said amount to be deducted from his Final Sstimate on Contract #0183. The motion was seconded by I Jr. Hutton, and adopted. Mr, Drury, representing the Luten Bridge Company, appeared before the Board regarding charge of 0260. as liquidated damages on Contract f?234-, -S..A. R. in Caroline County, stating that delay in Liquidated damages on S. A. H. the completion of this contract had been occasioned on account of Contract £234 to be allowed. not being able to obtain the necessary rights-of-way. On motion of I.Ir. Hutton, seconded by llr. Lloyd, it was ordered that the item of 0260,.for liquidated damages be stricken from the final estimate on Contract ;?234 in Caroline County. On motion of I.Ir. Shoemaker, seconded by Llr. Hutton, the Chief Engineer was authorized to change the requirement of the Change of afcphalt penetration, specifications concerning penetration of asphalt from 15 to 25, if, in his judgment, such change is necessary for the completion of work on Contract #0254 (?. Flanigan, Contractor) on or before October 1st, 1911. On motion of Llr. Hutton, seconded by Llr. Lloyd, the Chairman was requested to comnunicate with the IJayor to the effect that the State Roads CoinmiBBion wishes the Sewerage Commission to install Oity requ»»ted to install at onoe the sewers it proposes to lay on the Frederick Road; that on Fr«4wlo^; Hoad. this Commission will be engaged in the improvement of this road under the State Hoad Law early in 1912, and that the contract for same will
