Payment for borrow pit on Contract #164, in Caroline and Talbot Counties. Bills ordered paid. On motion of Ur. Hut ton, seconded by T>r« ^enren, the request of the County Coraniesloners of ',71 corn!oo County for an Increase in the snlary of their roads enfririoer from .'J-'f'.OO to ,£.^0.00 per nionth was granted. "r. -.;. P. Knight, Road Superintendent for ."ontgomery County, under date of June 2nd, made inquiry as to his authority to use u pitch binder under Contract rO:^l fnr the Dnrnostown Hoad. Mr* Hutton moved that the Chairman be requested to notify Mr. Knight that under this contract he has no such authority. The motion was seconded by I.!r. Shoein;^-:er, and adopted. On notion of I.Ir. Shoonn.ker, seconded by :.;r. Hutton, notice of the assignment of I'r. II. C. Hunter to the First !Tn.ti ->r.r.l "Bank: of "Jashin^-ton, ?:•., under date of September "l:"!th, 1910, of all monies due or to boco7ne due, etc., on Contract .-0101, wan accepted. I'r. Hutton, the Chair Man was requested to reply to their communication, stating that tho charge for the borrow pit of $207.00 was included in the final estimate sent to tho Counties, and should be paid in full-.by Caroline and Talbot Counties jointlyj the State Roads Gommirsion fools, -fcev/ever, that this in not a proper charge against the State and consequently this amount has not been included in the certificate to the Comptroller, because it is in the nature of land damages or rights-of-way, which the law prohibits the State from sharing. lir. Shoemaker moved that all bills, this day approved by the Auditing Committee, be paid. The motion was seconded by I.Ir.
