Final grade of City Streets on S. R. C. Contracts. Signing of agreement with Zlec^ric Rwy.Equp. Co,appvd, Survey ordered of road fron Prince Frederick south. Survey ordered of road from Birdsville north. Dr. Remsen moved that the bill of Henry Gable amounting to $173.82, for hauling and putting in pipe on State Road #1 near the Western Maryland Railroad, be approved for payment. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Hutton, seconded by Dr. Clark, it was ordered that the estimate of work done by the Holt Construction Company on Contract #054 to April 19th, 1911, amounting to $355.02, be paid. Dr. Clark moved that the County Commissioners of Caroline County be requested to put in condition for maintenance and use Contract #053, in accordance with recommendation of the Chief Engineer as contained in communication from him tinder date of April 15th, 1911, the County to be reimbursed for all money expended in connection with this work out of any future available allotment. The motion waa seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Dr. Clark, it was ordered that the City Authorities be notified that in the future the State Roads Commission will not let contracts on City Streets until the final grade of same has been definitely stated by the City, since changes in the grades after the contract has been awarded adds additional cost to the work. Dr. Remsen moved that the action of the Chairman in signing agreement under date of April 27th, '11, between the Electric Railway Equipment Company and the State Roads Commission, regarding extra poles to be used in connection with work of the United Railways & Electric Company, be approved. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Dr. Remsen, a survey was ordered made of three miles of State Road in Oal-vert County, from Prince Frederick south. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Dr. Remsen, a survey was ordered made of about five miles of road in Anne Arundel County, commencing afc Birdsville and running northerly. Plans and Specifications ordered for section of Fredk and Belair Hoads in City. Governor Crothers moved that the City Authorities be called on for a report as to their progress in securing rights-of-way on the Frederick and Belair Roads within the City, and that plans and specifications be prepared for the sections of these pikes within the city, and same advertised for construction as soon as possible. The motion was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted. |
