The Regular Semi-monthly meeting of the State Roads Commission was held at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Maryland, this Thursday, April 20th, 1911, at 10:30 A. M. Present: Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Shoemaker, Button and Lloyd. The minutes of meetings of February 16th, March 2nd, March 18th and April 6th were read and approved, after corrections had been made in minutes of February 16th and April 5th. The following bids were received from the County Commissioners of Caroline and Talbot Counties on the proposed Dover Bridge Road, Contract #164B2: York Bridge Company, ................$28969.22 George H. Trax, 29464.57 Caroline Construction Company,....... 29607.90 Engineer's Estimate, 28360.32 Mr. Shoemaker moved that the engineer's recommendation as to a revision and increase of his estimate so as to cover the lowest bid on this work, be approved,and that Chairman Tucker be authorized to approve the award of the Contract to the York Bridge Company. The motion was seconded by Mr. Button, and adopted. The Chairman's aotion as to payment of $200. to P.. T. Brice, $100. to John Makowski and $100. to John Mathews, et al, for damages to crops, etc., incident to relocation of Baltimore & Annapolis Boulevard, was, on motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Button, approved. Mr. Hutton moved that a survey be made of three miles of road in Carroll County, from Manchester towards Westminster. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lloyd, and adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that a survey be made at the earliest convenient date of the road from Rock Point north to the gravel road near Wayside, a distance of about 8 milee. The motion was seconded by Mr. Button, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Button, seconded by ISr. Shoemaker, the Chairman was requested to communicate with Mr. T. J, Barrett, Contractor on the Greensboro-Denton Road in Caroline County, (Contract #056), to the effect ^that as soon as the Commission is advised by its engineering department that the section of this road where the macadam already laid has been put in condition for acceptance the same will be maintained at the expense of the Commission ansL not at the contractor's expense, provided Mr. Barrett goee on with the completing of his work.
