The motion was seconded by Mr. Button, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Button, the Chairman was authorized to pay the consideration for the Emtnittsburg Turnpike, and to determine the amount of the consideration and mileage thereof with such assistance from the engineering department as he may think necessary. Governor Crothers offered the following: "WHEREAS, Honorable John Hubner and certain other citizens of the village of Gatonsvllle have offered to advance to the State Roads Commission the money necessary to permanently improve the Baltimore and Frederiektown Turnpike Road according to the plans and specifications prepared by the State Roads Turn- Commission between the Presbyterian Church in the village of Catonsville, and the terminal of the United Railways on the Baltimore and Fredericktown Turnpike Road, on condition that the State Roads Commission agrees to reimburse said gentlemen so advancing said money out of any future appropriation or bond issue that may be made by the State of Maryland, available for this purpose; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the State Roads Commission hereby accepts the proposition of Senator Hubner and the gentlemen associated with him, and agrees, so far as it has the power to agree, to carry put the provisions of said proposition." Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Engineer be authorized to make a survey and prepare plans for the section of road through Catonsville, beginning at the Presbyterian Church and extending to the terminal of the United Railways. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the Chief Engineer's recommendation as to the purchase of a special track layout amounting to $1136. for the Harford Road at Abbottston St», from Win. Wharton, Jr., & Co., Inc., be approved. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, the question of the purchase of toll gate houses on the Frederick Turnpike was referred to the Chairman and Counsel of the Board, with power.
