Page 295. Request for improvement of Black Rook Hoad. §2,000. to be contributed toward improvement of Belair-Churchville Hoad in Harford Co, Messrs. H. S. Moffitt and T» Watson Tracey of Baltimore County, requested the Commission to consider the improvement of the Baltimore County end of the Black Rook Road under the State Ait Law, The Chairman stated that the matter would be taken up, and if it were the wish of the County Commissioners of Baltimore County, and sufficient funds out of the final allotment were available, the Blaok Rook Road would be constructed. A delegation from Harford County, with Kr. M. H. Fahey as spokesman, stated their desire to have the State Roads Commission put in good condition the road between Churchville and Belair, so that same might be taken over and maintained by the State. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the County Commissioners of Harford County be notified to the effect that the Commission has not the funds available with which to repair and reconstruct the Belair-Ohurohville Road, but that said road will be accepted, provided it is repaired and reconstructed to the satisfaction and under the supervision of the Commission, and the County reimbursed in the amount of $2,000., which is the utmost the Commission will be able to contribute, considering the available funds in Earford County. The motion was seconded by I£r. Hutton, and adopted. Roads to be Improved from Taneytown towards Westminster; at Frizzelburg ; and between Westminster and Manchester. Estimate of Holt Contn. Co. on Contract #054 to be paid. Compensation of 3. H. Taylor services on Poconoka City-Snow Hill Road. Mr. Edward Reindollar of Taneytovra, representing a large delegation of residents of Carroll County, stated that subscriptions toward the purchase price of the Meadow Branch Pike could not be secured from the residents of Taneytown until they had some assurance that the improvement of the pike would commence at Taneytown instead of Frizzelburg, as now planned by the Commission. On motion of Kr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, it was agreed that of the available funds left upon contracting the section of road in Carroll County between Camber and the Fenby Pike, the balance will be divided between a section from Taneytown towards Westminster, a section at Frizzelburg, and a section between Westminster and Manchester. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, it was ordered that the estimate of the Holt Construction Company, amounting to $426.£4, for work done to March 16th, 1911, on Contract #054 in Caroline County, be paid. A communication from Mr. B. H. Taylor, Stookton, Md., under date of Maroh 22nd, 1911, relative to compensation for services to be rendered on section of road to be constructed by the County Commissioners between Pooomoke City and Snow Hill, was read to the Commission. It was the sense of the Board that Mr. Taylor be notified that the Commission cannot approve of his employment unless he is to serve as superintendent actually in charge of construction, or timekeeper, devoting his entire time
