Bids on Dover Bridge Road Contract n-164-B, rejected. .Permission granted Consolidated Gas Company and Balto.Co.Jater Co. to lay service pipes. Question of openings in State Roads referred to Counsel and Chief Sngineer. Sale of Crusher Plant and ,\ Roller to Cecil County. A delegation from Worcester County, with Senator John Walter Smith and Mr. J. Edward White, as spokesmen, stated that the County Commissioners of their county wished to construct the section of road between Pocomoke City and Snow Hill, and would like to make arrangements with the Commission to begin work on same as soon as possible* Governor Orothers moved that the County Commissioners of Worcester County be permitted to construct the road between Pooomoke City and Snow Hill, under the supervision of the State Roads Commission, and that Chairman Tucker be authorized to purchase for them whatever machinery they may require. The notion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted* The Chief Sngineer addressed a communication to the Commission recommending that all bids on the Dover Bridge Road, Contract #164-B, be rejected, and the work readvertised. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Dr. Remsen, all bids on Contract #164-B were rejected, and the work ordered readvertised. Applications for permits from the Consolidated Gas Company and the Baltimore County Water Company to lay service pipes on the Philadelphia Road, were submitted to the Board. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Dr. Clark, it was agreed that the Consolidated Gas, Electric Light & Power Company be permitted to lay service pipes at Seventh Street, and the Baltimore County Water & Electric Company to install Its mains at Orangeville, on the Philadelphia Road, provided they will furnish bond in the amount of $1000 each to replace the road material disturbed, under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the State Roads Commission, and that they will pay the expense of any other attention to the disturbed section incurred by the forces of the State Roads Commission doing the work within 18 months from date of permit. Dr. Clark moved that the question of openings in State Roads for the installation of mains, etc., be referred to the Counsel and Engineer of the Commission, to prepare a general form of agreement to cover the entire situation, and that they be requested to report to the Board at its next meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted. Dr. Clark moved the sale of equipment, consisting of crusher plant and roller, to the County Commissioners of Cecil County for the sum of $3000., and that this amount be transferred from the State Road Fund to the credit of the Baltimore & Washington Boulevard account* The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton, and adopted.
