Page 885. Request of Balto.Clay Product Co. to have briot tests made at their plant,refused. Privilege of testing at plants withdrawn. Relocation and grade of T. B. Road. Condition of Bridge across Catootin Creek. Liquidated Damages on Contract #0182 of the 11. A. Talbott Company. of Baltimore County. The Baltimore Clay Product Company, under date of February 14th, addressed tho Conrniseion relative to the testing of brick, asking that they be allowed to have such tests made at thoir plantc in Pennsylvania, tho salary and expenses of the wan making the tests to be paid by then, ho to be hired and work under the directions of the State Engineer. They also requested the Corariiysion, should it determine this plan of procedure impracticable, to con-eider putting all manufacturers on tho same basis with regard to the testing of material. Dr. Heir.sen moved that the Commission decline to grant the request of the Baltimore Clay Product Company, ano that the privilege of testing material at the plant of any manufacturer be withdrawn. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers, and adopted. -i delegation frorc -?rince George's County addressed the Board with respect to the proposed relocation of the T. B, Road. Governor Crothers moved that 'the location of the old road be follov/ed, unless the relocation for sar.ie on the north side of Henson'a Branch can be secured free of cost, or at such a price as the Chairman shr/l'J. feol justified in paying, and that the cjitec-tion of the grade of this road be left .vith tho Chairman, Counsel and Chief Engineer. The motion was ;..econdod by I.lr. Hatton, and adopted. The Chairrirn read a communication from the .... J. Grove Lime Company regarding the condition of the bridge across the Catoctin Greek on Contract ,v-024£, stating that said bridge in its present state is not strong enough to udir.it of the passing of their steam roller across it, and asking the Commission to bear the expense of putting the bridge in safe condition. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by ^r» Rerasen, this matter was referred to the Cluirrran and Counsel of the Board, with power to act. The ;.:. A. Talbott Company addressed a letter to Chairman Tucker, quoting conr.unication received by said Company under date of October 21st,1909, granting permission to do extra work on their contract #0182, without prescribing a definite date for tho completion of said extra work, and in view of this fact the Talbott Company requested the Commission to reconsider its forr.er notion as to a deduction of $110. as liquidated damages, and that they be allowed this amount. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Dr. Kerns en, the matter was referred to the Chairman and Counsel of the Board, with power.
