Remsen offered the following: "RKSOLVSD, that the Juniata Paving Company to penalized upon "Contracts #050 and #051 for a number of days sufficient to cover the "extra cost of the inspectors on these contracts". The resolution was unanimously adopted. The Chairman presented an estimate of the Chief vjmrineer for 12' siieil macadam on the Dover Bridp;<5 Road from the end of the Tidpe to the Talbot Oounty end of the contract anountinp; to $1,392.05. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the County Commissioners of Talbot County be communicated with to the affect that in view of their desire for haste they will be permitted to proceed with the work under the supervision of the State Roads Commission, with the understanding that of the work is done at the oncrinaer' e estimate, or lees, the State will pay one-half of the amount; if more than this estimate, the counties will be required to pay all in excess. The motion vae seconded by T. Clarv, and adopted. On motion of "Jr. Shoemaker, seconded by T. Shoemaker, the Chairman was inctructed to communicate with the County Commissioners to tha affect that as nothing can be done with this road at present, the Board does not recommend any immediate action other than a notice to the Contractors and thsir "bondsmen that it will be expected of them to start the work as early in the spring as the weather will permit, and to push it to the earliest possible completion; if there is any apparent neglect to do so, the "Board will then feol Justified in calling on the bondsmen to finish the work or of declaring the contract void and forfeited; this not to be construed as an extension of time or waiver of any penalty contained in their contract.
