Page 247. Use of stone and wood filler on Harford Road, outside of City Limits by U.K.Co. Regarding the Harfurd Road, TT. Crusby stated that about 200 lineal feat of brick pavement would be laid outside the City Limits, and recommended that concrete be required under the ties and a wood filler be allowed out sida the rails with a brick and mortar fillar inside the rails. On behalf of the Railways Company, vr. ^arter stated that the Company would not consent to this, and would fip-ht any such requirement. ?£r. Shoemaker thereupon moved, under protest apainst the threat of the Railways Company to firrht any attempt to make them use concrete instead of stone, that stone be allowad in place of the concrete, and that wood filler be allowad on both sides of the rails on this road. The motion was seconded by nr. <*lark, and adopted. As to tha westport Road, Lrr. Crosby stated that it appeared that tha question of ballast under the ties was covered by tha an-rae- Wood filler and brick fill- mant already executed, and recommended that a wood fillerbe allowed er block to be used on outside the rail and a brick fillar block be used inside the rails Westport Road. (v/hich in this case are less than 9" in height). On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, duly seconded, tha nhiaf ^n^i-near1s recommendations as to the Waatport Road were adopted. Mr. Crosby stated that it appeared that the ballast under the ties was covered by the apraament on the Liberty Road, and recorr.iandad that a wood filler be allowed outside the rails and a brick and mortar filler be required inside the rails. On raotijn, duly seconded and adopted, tha commission ordered that a wood filler be used on both sides of tha rails on the Liberty Road. Y/ood filler to be used on Liberty Rd. Approved bills of U.Rwys. Co. ordered paid. Dr. rjlark moved that all bills of the United Railways & Electric Company approved "by the nhiaf Engineer of the Commission be paid, and those not approved ba held for future consideration.
