The request of the Washington, Spa Sprinrs & Oretta Railroad Company to lay its tracks on the Baltimore & ^aehinfrton boulevard through Hyattsvilla was brourht to the attention of the Commis sion. Wells and the Mayor and City Council of Hyattsville be sent tha follovdnp; communication: "Replying to your favor of recent date rerarding the position of the State Roads commission on the Washington & Baltimore Boulevard through tha village of Hyattsville, the State Roads Commission claims control over the bed of this road; however, without regard to our laral rights, in the interest of your community, we would appreciate anything that you can do to prevent the City Council of Hyattsville from planting any privileges on that road without the same being first approved by us. Our only interest in this matter is to protect your community and the general public and prevent the destruction of highways upon which the State has expended a larga sum of money." On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by r»r. ^arisen, Chairman Tucker -//as authorized to draw his warrant on the Comptroller of the Treasury for the amount of $5,0no. to be used on State Atd Roads; $25,000. on State Road ^1, and Sl50,0oo. for State i?oad work. The motion was adopted. Warrants on Comptroller of Treasury. Committee to take up question of suitable offices. Resolution regarding payment of road accounts. Governor Crothers moved that the Chairman and ?rr. shoemaker be appointed a Committee to take up the question of suitable offices for the Commission, with authority to act in tha matter. The motion was seconded by ?.rr. Hutton, and adopted. In regard to the payment of all accounts for work beinr done on State Roads other than by contract, Governor Crothers offered the following resolution: "RftSOLVKD, hereafter on all work being done other than by contract, that the Chairman be authorized to pay the bills when rendered except for final payments, with notice that the bills are paid subject to the reserved right to correct and adjust same in any subsequent payment; and that immediately after payment of such bills and statements, that same be sent to the ^nginaering Department for tabulation and return to the commission with the Engineer1 s report thereon."
