Petitions for State Aid Roads in Montgomery and Caroline Counties. Extension of time granted on Contract Ho. 0100 in Queen Anne's County. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were x^ad and approved. The application of the Washington, Spa spring and rtretta Railroad Company to lay a single track on the Baltimore and Washington Boulevard between Washington and Bladensburg was discussed, and on motion of Mr. shoemaker, duly seconded, it was agreed that said Railroad company be granted permission to construct its line on the Baltimore and Washington "Boulevard in accordance rdth plans submitted by the Chief Engineer of the Commission dated Juna 27, 1910, and under permit signed by the State Roads Commission. Motion adopted. Mr. Hutton moved that the Commission request Attorney-General Straus to render an opinion as to the appropriation of $24,000.00 under Chapter 304 of the Acts of 19o8 for the construction of the Washington "Boulevard (state Road Governor crothers seconded the motion, which was adopted. Messrs, vullikin, Owens, rjaffney and Tunico of the engineering department presented requests for leave of absence of ten days, to attend encampment of the Fifth Maryland National Guard. Governor crothers moved that these employees be granted leave of absence as requested, provided substitutes can be secured for their respective positions. Mr. Hutton seconded the motion, which was adopted. Chairman Tucker presented petition from the County Commissioners of Baltimore County for state aid in the construction of the Old Court poad from Green spring Ave. westerly, a distance of about one mile. Also petitions from the county Commissioners of Montgomery and Caroline C-unties for state aid in the Improvement of roads in each of said counties. Governor crothers moved that receipt of the aforegoing petitions be acknowledged and the respective County Commissioners informed that there are not, at this time, sufficient funds available to gratify their requests. Mr. Hutton seconded the motion, which was adopted. Mr. payette M. T&tham requested the commission to grant him an extension of thirty days in which to complete his Contract No. 0100 In Queen Anne's county.
