Dr. Rensen moved that the contract in Kent County on the road from Kennedyville to Locust Grove, a distance of about 3.33 miles, be awarded the Juniata Paving Company of Philadelphia, Pa., at their bid price. Governor Crothers seconded the motion, which was adopted. Governor Crothera moved that all bids on work in Prince George's County on the Marlboro Pike from the District Line to Meadows, a distance of 5.20 miles, be rejected. The motion was duly seconded and carried. The awarding of contract in Talbot County on the road between Skipton and Wye Kills, a distance of about 3.49 miles, was withheld, pending a conference between the bidder and Chairman Tucker, as to a reduction in the bid price. Governor Crothers moved that the bid on contract in Charles County between White Plains and Prince George's County Line near Mattawoman, a distance of about 6.25 miles (gravel), be referred to the Chairman and Chief Engineer, with instructions to secure a reduction in the tid price to what they consider a fair figure. Dr. Remsen seconded the motion, which was adopted. On motion of Governor Crothsrs, duly seconded and carried, the bide on work in Carroll County, on the road between Elderaburg and Camber, a distance of about 5 miles, were rejected. The bid of the Juniata Paving Company on work in Queen Anne's County from Church Hill to Starkey's Corner, a distance of 1.97 miles, was, on motion of Governor Crothere, referred to the Chairman and Chief Engineer for the purpose of securing a satisfactory reduction on the bid price. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and adopted. It was moved, seconded and carried, that the bid of Mr. B. B. Oonder on a section of road in Queen Anne's County, from Church Hill towards Cheatertown, a distance of about 3.50 miles, be accepted, provided the Chairman can secure a reduction in the bid price of said contractor.
