RoJA Page 192. Washington Boulevard. Taking over of portion of Liberty Rd. referred to Committee. Katter of Frederick Turnpike referred to Committee and Counsel to the Commission. Extension of time on Contract xTo. 0100. Request of Rickey-Swann Co. as to withholding of 10;£ on th-3 ir contract refused. Chief Engineer authorised to make repairs on Washington Rd. Bill of Geological survay for-labor, Materials, etc., order-ad paid. from Sonator Price regarding >Tanticoke Bridga. was read. On mot ion of Dr. Remsen, seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, said application was referred to the Counsel of the Commission. The Chairman stated that a delegation from the Liberty Poad had called in regard to the taking over by the Coaimission of the Liberty Road from Buck's Lane to the North Branch. On motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Dr. Remsen, the matter was referred to a Comn.ittee consisting of Messrs. Tucker, Button and Clark, for investigation and report. The matter of the Frederick Turnpike was discussed, and on motion of Governor Crothers, the question was referred to the above-named committee, to have Counsel to the Commission meet with them, if desirable, and report back to the Commission. The motion was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted. An extension of thirty days was requested by Mr. Fayette M. Latham, Contractor, on his work in Queen Anne's County. The matter was referred to the Chief Engineer for report. The request by Mr. Swann of the Rickey-Swann Company, Contractors on State Road work in Charles County, for an advance on the 10$ retained on his contract, to be used as temporary security, was discussed. Governor Crothers moved that the Chairman advise Mr. Swann to the effect that the Commission regrets that it cannot comply with his request, as such would be in violation of its contract and bond. Dr. Remsen seconded the motion, which was adopted. The Chief Engineer stated that the Washington Road was in very urgent need of repairs. On motion of Dr. Remsen, the Chief Engineer was authorized to make the necessary repairs on the Washington Road. The motion was duly seconded and adopted. The Chairman presented a bill from the Geological Survey, for labor, materials, etc., from April 30th to May 13th, 1910, incl., on State Road work, showing an increase in the salaries of certain employees over previous amounts paid. Governor Crothers moved that said bill be paid. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and adopted. The Chairman read a telegram from Senator J. D. Price, in regard to the construction of a bridge across the Nanticoke River at Sharptown. No action was taken.
