A Special Meeting of the State Poads Commission was held this Monday, January 24, 1910, at its offices, Union Trust Buildin-% Baltimore, Maryland, at 10-30 o'clock A. ir. present.: Governor Croth^rs, Chairman Tucker, ^ressrs. P.ensen, Shoemaker, Hutton and Clark. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were read, corrected and approved. The Corrjr.iisi-icn heard dele-ations of citizens and representatives of the Improvement Associations in repard to the widening and acquiring title to the Pei sterstown Poad. It was the sense of the Coriyr,ii3 ision that it cannot expend any money in the acquirement of rip-hts-of-way, it "beinr the purpose of the nom-rniscion to use the money in improving the roads. The Mayor and Commissioners for Opening Streets of "Baltimor^ City, appeared before the Commission In regard to the improvement of t"- °. Farford ^oad in the City T^its. It v/as understood that the ,-rades ar.d lines ".vould he furnished the Commission hy the proper city authorities Tvithin the earliest pos-sihle dato, when the Commission would take the matter under consideration. The Chairman read a letter from J.Tr. John S. ""Visor re.<-a.rdinr; rights of way on the "palls Poad. "^r. pemsen moved that the Chairman and Chief "^nrineer confer with the County Commissionfsre cf Baltimore County regarding a slight change in the p;rade in front of t; e properties of the Cotton !5uck pcmpany and r'r. Samuel Poche, witli pov/er to act. "Hr. ^lark seconded the motion, v/hich \vas adopted. The Chairman presented a letter from Mr. Columbus Humphrey of Upper Tarlhoro, Prince n-eor;-e's County, in regard to constructing a gravel path on the side of the unfinished State Head. T'r. Shoemaker moved that permission he granted to build a gravel path, provided it does not interfere with the drainage. The motion was seconded by Trr. Hutton, and adopted. A letter from the U. S. Fidelity & Guaranty Company, under date of January 20, 1910, regarding the contract of Hoot-man "Bros, v/as read "by the Chairman. The Chairman read a letter from the Chief rerardinfr the furlough of certain employes. Dr. Remsen moved • that the recommendations of the Chief Engineer be approved.
