Hootman "Brothers, the contractors on the road east of Cumberland (Contract #0141) have been doinfr, and sug^cstinp; that the necessary legal notices be served on the contractors and their bondsmen. • The Counsel reported in regard to this matter that due notice had boon served on the bcudauen of Hootman brothers, and service of said notice accepted by the "Bonding Company. The Secretary read a letter from the T>ickey-Swann Company, Contract #352, also a letter from the chief "Pn^inecr, in ref^ard to extra allowance to cover the excess of cost to the contractors, resulting from a change in the plans made by the Commission, eaid claim amounting to *1^9.42, -vhich the Chief "^n^inecr recommended. IT. Shoemaker moved the payment of said $15^.42 to P. W. Messenger, the contractor under Contract $050, on presentation of proper claim by the contractor to whom the contract was awarded. T)r. Clark seconded the motion, which was adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that on all contracts awarded, the contractors be paid on the ""Yi^ineer" s est ima'es, without further authority from trie commission upon their sifninp; the supplementary arreonent prepared by Counsel to this Commission, it beinc understood that the bondsmen of the several contractors are to also sifcn the supplementary agreement. The motion \vas duly seconded and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that the Commission draw its v;arrant on the Comptroller cf the Treasury to the order of J. M. Tucker, Chairman, for $100,000.00, to *e deposited with the ?"erchants rational Bank of "Baltimore, to meet the expenses of road work. "Hr. Remaen seconded the motion, '.vhich v/as adopted. The Secretary read a communication from trie lav? department of the United Railways and ^lectric Company of "Baltimore, stating that said company was in a position to have executed at any time, and to deliver to the State Roads Commission, deeds in the form submitted to and approved by Counsel to this Commission, for the "Baltimore & Yorktown and "Baltimore & Harford Turnpike Roads, and further stating that said company •vae ready, at any time, to facilitate as far as they are able to do so, in the acquisition by condemnation of the "Baltimore ?c Jerusalem Turnpike. After some discussion, TVT. Clark moved that a Committee of Three, composed of the Chairman, the Counsel, and the Chief "'"ngineer be appointed to confer with the proper city authorities in regard to the work to be done under the contract between the United Railways and "^lectric Company of "Baltimore, and the State Roads Commission, and to report at the
