The Chairman read a letter from the Chief ^ regarding the transfer of certain employees, and on motion of Dr. Rerasen, seconded "by Mr. Shoemaker, the action of the Chief ^ngineer was approved. The Chairman read a communication from f*r. Payette K. Latham, requesting an extension of time on his contract #0100, Chestertown-Church Hill. 7)r. Remsen mored that the Chairman and the Chief "^ngineer investigate the matter and report to this Commission. Dr. Clark seconded the motion, which was adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the time ho extended under Contract #O182, Philadelphia Poad, the Jr. A. Talbott Company, contractors, and that the addi tional cost rendered necessary in consequence of said extension, as per the request of said contractors, be authorized und^r the "'P'xtra Work Clause" of said contract. Shoemaker moved that the Chairman be authorized to draw his warrant on the Comptroller of the Treasury for $100,000 to meet the expenses of road work, and that this amount be deposited with the Merchants ?^ational "Bank of Baltimore. The motion was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted. Dr. Remsen moved that the matter of the Liberty Road be referred to a committee consisting of the Chairman, :.'r. Shoemaker and the Counsel to this Commission, to draw up proper resolutions and to report at the next meeting of the Commission, and that the '"hief T^npiineer be authorized to make a survey of the city portion of said Lib°rty "Road, and one mile in Baltimore County.
