Page 130. Present. Reading and Approval of Minutes. Payment to Mr. R.V.Robinson for resetting fence. Present: Governor nrothers, Chairman Tucker, "Dr. pemsen, Dr. Clark and !fr. Shoemaker. ITr. Kutton was absent. The minuses of the previous meeting were read and ap- proved. Pa:Tner.t to Kr. ^ Report of Chairman as to consultation with counsel of United Rv/ys . & "Pie c. Co, 7>r. Pemsen moved that Mr. P. v. PoMnsor. be paid the sum of §15.00 for resetting the fence along his property on the Mechanicsville-Leonardtown P.oad. The motion was seconded by !'r. Shoemaker, and adopted. Dr. Clark moved that J.'r. "^nse be tendered the sum of .£•21.00 in settlement of the expense neceseary to reset the fence on his property along the St. T.Tary's County, T.eonardtown Poad. The motion was seconded by ?'r. Shoemaker and adopted. The Chairman reported that he had visited the counsel of the United Railv.'ays and '"'lectric Company in rerard to certain deeds or agreements affecting the Baltimore and Harford, the "^alti-more and York and the Baltimore and Jerusalem (or ^el Air) Turnpikes, and the counsel for said Rail'.ray said, that he would recommend that the incident be closed so far as his Company was concerned. The matter went over, to v«? taVen uo at a lat-^r meeting. Kr. A. L. .VcCann, one of the County Commissioners of Harford County, appeared before the Commission in regard to a ste^l bridge across Deer Creek, stating that the County \vas willing to appropriate the sum of $7,000. to place a steel structure across Deer Creek. It v/as'underatood that >!r. TcCann would have the "Board of County Commmissionsrs take formal action in this matter, and they could submit their proposition to the Commission. The Chairman read a letter from ?'r. "David V. Ault, contractor on the Harford Road, in which he stated that in bidding Request for Allowance on on tho -;ork, his hid for excavation was "based on a haul of a maxi-Over-liaul ty Mr. D. V. Ault. mum of 1,000 feet, and requested an allowance for over-haul in excess of the 1,000 feet. "Dr. Pemsen moved that TTr. Ault be informed that no allowance can he made under the contract for this extra haul on excavation. "Dr. Clark seconded the motion, which was adopted. Steel Bridge across Deer Creek. Extension of Contract #0181 to include 500 feet. The Chairman stated that J.'r. D. V. Ault, the Contractor on the Westport Road, Contract #0181, had informed him that he had begun work on said road at least 500 feet "fast of his contract, and asked the Commission to extend his contract to include this 500 feet, at the price bid on this work. Dr. Remsen moved that the request of Mr. Ault to extend his contract on the Westport Road the 500 feet, be
