A Special meeting of the State Roads Commission was held this Thursday, August 12, 1909, at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Maryland, at 10 o'clock A. M. The Chairman called the meeting to order. Present: Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Hutton and Shoemaker. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were not read. Senator John B. Shannon and Col. Avirett of Cumberland, appeared before the Commission regarding the matter of their Road Directors building a section of road under State Supervision. The Secretary was instructed to communicate with Col. Avirett to the effect that the Commission would be glad to take up with the Road Directors of Allegany County this matter. Governor Crothers moved that the matter of repairing the bridge over the Gunpowder Falls on the Bel Air Road in Baltimore County, as recommended by Mr. Rittenhouse of Balti- " more County, be referred to the Counsel to this Commission for a report at the next meeting of the Commission. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hutton and adopted.
