Mr. Uhler continued as Aiist. "Engineer. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the work on the Philadelphia Road in Baltimore County, be awarded the M. A. Talbott Company, at their original bid. Motion was seconded by Mr. Kutton and adopted. The Chairman presented a number of bills, approved by the Auditing Committee, and on motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, the bills were authorized to be paid. The Chairman presented the Engineer's estimates of work done on the following contracts: By R. w. Messenger on the Federalsburg-Dorchester County Line Road, to July 15th, amounting to $309.94 ; By C. M. Phillips on the Frederals-burg-Hurlock Road, to July 16, 1909, amounting to $1793.75 ; and "by the Juniata Paving Company on the Chestertown-Ken-nedyville Road, to July 21, 1909, amounting to $2286.50. On motion of Mr. Shoemaker, seconded by Mr. Hutton, that the amounts named in the "Engineer's estimates above referred to, be paid. The motion was adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that the umgineer be authorized to prepare plans and specifications, at the earliest possible date, showing the property lines on the Old Bel Air Road, and that a copy of said plans and specifications be delivered to the Benson Farmers Club. Seconded by Governor crothers, and adopted. Mr. Hutton moved that the state Roads Commission undertake the building of the road in Montgomery County from Rockville to Gaithersburg, under its own supervision, under new plans, and specifications to be furnished. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers, and adopted. Governor Crothers moved to continue the services of Mr. W. D. Uhler, as Assistant Engineer until such time as the State Roads Commission and the Geological Survey Commission can take up and settle the question which they now have under consideration as to the regulation of the employees of these tv/o Commissions, Seconded by Mr. Shoemaker, and adopted.
