Page 94. Awarding of Contract for Grading, Bridging and Draining in Calvert County. Ho Bids for Charles County. Closing of Contract in Oarrett County. on excavation from 39/ per cubic yard to 33/ per cubic yard ; and provided further that said Monmouth Construction Company will agree to insert in said contract a clause agreeing that the State Roads Commission may deduct from the aggregate price of the work, labor, materials and supplies, done or furnished under said contract, an amount equal to the aggregate reduction in the existing published freight rates, if any, that it may obtain or receive the benefit of upon any and all materials and supplies that may be furnished under Ťaid contract ; and that all other bids for work in said county be rejected, and that the certified checks of said bidders whose proposals are rejected, be returned to them. The Motion was duly seconded and adopted. Mr. Hutton moved that the bid of the Monmouth Construction Company, Red Bank, N. J., for grading, bridging and draining a section of Road in Calvert county, beginning at the Anne Arundel County Line and running south towards Sunderland, about three miles, be accepted, and the contract awarded to the Monmouth Construction company upon and on the following conditions, to wit: Provided said Monmouth Construction Company will agree to reduce the price of excavation from 39/ per cubic yard to 33/ per cubic yard ; and provided also that the said Monmouth Construction Company will agree to insert in said contract a clause agreeing that the State Roads Commission may deduct from, the aggregate price of the work, labor, materials and supplies done or furnished under said contract, an amount equal to the aggregate reduction In the existing published freight rates, if any, that it may obtain or receive the benefit of, upon any and all materials and supplies that may be furnished under said contract ; and that all other bids in said County be rejected, and that the certified checks of said bidders \7hoae proposals are rejected, be returned to them. The Motion was duly seconded and adopted. No bids were received for work in Charles County, and the same ordered readvertised. The Chairman reported that the contract for the c-arrett County work from Oakland towards Thayerville 5-1/4 miles was closed with J. E. Francis, Punxsutawny, Pa., by reducing the price of excavation from 60/ per cubic yard to 50/ per cubic yard and reducing the price of Borrow excavation from 80/ per cubic yard to 50/ per cubic yard, reducing his bid to $56,481.90.
