Awarding of Contract in Allegany County. 6 i A Special meeting of the State Roads Commission was held this Monday, June 14th, 1909, at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Md., at 10 o'clock A. M. The Chairman called the meeting to order. Present: Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Button, Shoemaker and Remsen. The minutes of the previous meeting of the commission were not read. Governor Crothers moved that the Commission proceed to take up the bids on the roads as opened at the meeting of June llth, 1909. The motion was duly seconded and adopted. It was moved, seconded and carried, that the bid of Hootman Brothers, Washington, Pa., for a section of Road in Allegany, beginning one mile East from Cumberland and extending to the Six-Mile House, about Five Miles, be accepted, and the contract awarded to Hootman Brothers, upon and on the following conditions to wit: Provided said Hootman Brother* will agree to insert In said contract a clause agreeing that the State Roads Commission may deduct from the aggregate price of the work, labor, materials and supplies done or furnished under said contract an amount equal to the aggrt* gate reduction In the existing published freight rates, If
