Page 80. Baltimore, Md., June 4th., 1909. Forty-second Meeting. Present. Reading and Approval of Minutes. Pursuant to notice, a special meeting of the State Roads Commission was held this Friday, June 4th., 1909, at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Maryland, at 9 o'clock A.M. The Chairman called the meeting to order. Present: Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker, Messrs. Hutton, Shoemaker, Clark and Remsen. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were read and approved. Offer of Preambles and Reso- Dr. Clark offered the following preambles and Resolution, v/hich lutions. was seconded by Dr. Remsen, and adopted: "Whereas the State Roads Commission has been in negotiation with the President, Managers and Company of the Baltimore & Frederick-town Turnpike Road, a body corporate, with the purpose and endeavor of securing that section of said turnpike road lying v.lthin the corporate limits of Baltimore City, and also the sections within the limits of Baltimore, Howard, Carroll, Frederick and Washington Counties; and Negotiations with Balto. & Fredericktown Turnpike Co. Offers by Connisalon. Price. Condemnation of certain Sections. "Whereas separate offers have been made by the Commission to said Corporation for the several sections of said turnpike road lying within the limits of Baltimore City and the said respective Counties; and "Whereas the State Roads Commission has been unable to agree with said turnpike company upon the price to be paid for any one or all of said sections of said turnpike road, and aaid turnpike company has withdrawn all previous offers and called off all negotiations: "Resolved that the State Roade Commission proceed at this time to condemn ae rapidly as 10 practicable for the Counsel to take up the matter, the several sections of said turnpike road and all the respective rights, easements, and title of said corporation in and over said turnpike road ae may be necessary for the purpose of the construction thereof as a State highway, as follows: To proceed with condemnation proceedings against that portion of said turnpike road lying within the limits of Baltimore County, then the portion lying within the limits of Howard County, then the portion lying within the limits of Baltimore City, then the portion lying within "the limits of Carroll Cointy, then the portion lying within the limits of Frederick County, then the portion lying within the
