Recormendation to have Salaries of Draftsmen increased. A special meeting of the State Roads Commission was held this Tuesday, April ('•>, 1909, at the offices of the Commission, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, 1'aryland, at 11 o'clock A.M. Present: Governor Crothers, Chaiman Tucker, and I'essrs. Rerisen, Shoemaker, Clark and Hutton. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission, were read, corrected and approved. Dr. Remsen moved that consideration of the report of the Auditing Comnittee be postponed until the next meeting of the Commission. The motion was seconded by-Governor Crothers, and adopted. The Chairman presented a bill of the Auto Outing Company for hire of an automobile for a trip through Carroll and Howard Counties, and on motion of Dr. Remsen, seconded by Governor Crothere, the bill was approved for payment. The Chairman stated that he had a communication from Hon. Blair Lee, of Montgomery County, asking the privilege of appearing before the Commission regarding the forms of specifications and contracts. Dr. Clark moved that the matter be laid over until a later meeting of the Commission. Dr. Remsen seconded the motion. The motion was adopted, and the matter was deferred to a later maeting. The Chief Engineer recommended that the Comrrission increase the salaries of Draughtsmen Vincent \7. Power, Jr. and F. R. S. V.'aters from $50. oo per month to $60. oo per month- Mr. Shoemaker moved that the recommendations of the Chief "^gineer be appror-ed. Dr. Clark seconded the motion. The matter was laid over until the next meeting of the Cojnmission.
