Dr. Clark moved that the road run from Hyattstown, through Monrovia, New Market to New London. l!r. Shoen-.aker seconded the notion. A vote being taken, Drs. Clark and Remsen and Kr. Shoemaker voted in favor of the motion, and Governor Crothers, Chairman Tucker and l.'r. Button voted against t-he motion. The motion v/as lost. Dr. Clark moved that the tentative route in Washington County be made the permanent route for that County. Dr. Rersen seconded the motion. This was understood to include the National Pike all the way through in its entirety, or as much thereof as the funds v.-ill permit. The motion was adopted. Governor Crothers offered an amendment to the effect that the start be made on the National Pike and go south by way of Rohrers-ville, Gaplar.d to Weverton; and from Gaplard east tc the Frederick County line, as far as the funds will permit. Ur. Hutton seconded the motion. A vote being taken, the Governor, the Chairman and Tfr. Hutton voted in-the affirmative. Dr. Clark and 1'r. Shoemaker voted in the negative. Dr. Retnsen stated that if it v/as possible to do this work he v/ould vote for it, but if it was manifestly impossible under the apportion).ient to this county, he would vote apainst it. He later voted for the additional reads as suggested by the Governor, and the motion was adopted. iJr. Hutton moved that the permanent route in rontgcr.ery County proceed as follo-.vs: Rockville to Gaithersburg, Quince Orchard, Darns-town, Beallsville, D ckerson Station to the Frederick County line; from Gaithersburg running through J/.iddlebrook to Hendereon's Corner, from thence to Cedar Grove, Damascus to the Howard Count}' line; the Brookville Pike from the District Line, Silver Spring by v:ay of ITor-beck, taking in Olney, Sandy Springs, in its entirety, joining it on the Howard County side v/ith Snell'e Bridge, and on the southwest to Rockville to the State Aided Road, ae built. Governor Crothers seconded the motion. Dr. Clark offered an amendment that the tentative route be made the permanent route, adding to it the road from the Howard County line to Damascus. The motion was seconded by F.r. Shoemaker. A vote being taken, Messrs. Clark, Shoemaker and Remsen voted in the affirmative, and the Governor, the Chairman and ?.%|. Hutton voted in the negative. The amendment was lost. A vote being taken on the original motion of I/r. Hutton, the Governor, Mr. Tucker and J."r.
