RoJA Amendment to motion in regard to Route in Howard County. in Frederick County Amendment to motion in regard to Route in Frederick County. Substitution for above Amendment. Opposition to addition to fre of tentative routes. Offer of National Pike, etc. Vote on Original Motion of Dr. Clark. Page 53. ii I, HO? Selection of National Pike. Lrr. Hutton offered as a substitute for the Glenelg route, the road froir ^llicott City, via Clarksville, to Snell's "Bridge. Governor Crothers seconded the motion. A vote "being taken on the amendment, four members voted in favor thereof, and Dr. Clark and Kr. Shoemaker voted in the negative. The amendment was carried, which include the Frederick Pike as tentatively- adopted and the Clarksville Pike to Snell'B Bridge. Dr. Clark moved that the tentative route as located in Frederick County be made the permanent route in that County. I'r. Shoeiuaker seconded the motion. Y.H. Hutton moved as an amendment, the Frederick P.oad frorr. Riclgeville through Frederick to the '"ashington County line near Boonsboro; the pike running from Frederick to Tta-inittsburg; the Buckeystown pike running south from Frederick, and the dirt road from "Buckeystown to the Liontgomery County line near Dickerson; the Jefferson Road from Frederick to Jefferson, to be continued over the dirt road to Knoxville. There was no second to Mr. Button's amendment. Governor Crothers offered as a substitute to cut out the Buckeystown Pike, and to take the Frederick Pike, the "^rnmitts-burg, Jefferson and OPossumtown Pikes, and the dirt road from Jefferson to Knoxville. Kr. Shoemaker stated that he was opposed to any addition to the mileage of the tentative routes as adopted, because he did not believe it was complying
