Governor Crothers moved that the cases be purchased, but that every effort be made to get the lowest price possible to the State. Dr. Remsen seconded the motion v/hich was adopted. Dr. Rerasen moved that the matter of desks for the engi-nerring department be referred to the Committee on Supplies with power to secure the necessary desks either by purchase at a cost not exceeding $165.oo, or by' transfer from the State at Annapolis. Governor Crothers seconded the motion, and it ,vas adopted. Governor Crothers moved that the suggestions of the Chief Engineer regarding clerical assistance in his office, be laid over until a later meeting. Mr. Shoemaker movd that the Auditing Committee be requested t , consider t e relations between the State Roads Commission and the Geological Survey Commission and to submit their suggestions to this Commisfcion in regard thereto. The first regular bi-monthly mooting of the State Roads Commission wan held this Thursday, January 7, 1909, at its offices, Union Trust Building, Baltimore, Md., at 11 o'clock a.m. Present: Governor Austin L. Crothers, Chairman John 1!. Tucker» Dr. Ira Remsen, Mr. Francis C. Hutton, Mr. Samuel M. Shoemaker,and Dr. Win. Bullock Clark. The minutes of the previous meeting of the Commission were read, corrected and approved. The Chairman presented the amended lease between the Johns Hopkins University Trustees and the State Roads Commission, for the rental of the building 532 North Howard Street, Baltimore, and Dr. Clark moved that the ghairman be authorized to sign and execute the lease.
