Dr. Clark offered an amendment to the motion to the effect that all Instrument men be paid alike. Upon a vote being taken the amendment v/as lost. The question reverting to Dr. Remsen's original motion, and a vote l-eing taken, the motion was Icet. The Chair presented a letter from I'r. John II. Williams (Hodman) asking leave of absence until January 1st. 1209, and on motion of Governor Crothers, seconded by Dr. Clark, leave of absence without pay was granted Kr. Williams. Dr. Clark moved that the bill of John T. Myers, Janitor of the building 532 North Howard Street, amounting to $12.50 for one months service, be paid. Mr. Shoemaker seconded the motion v/hich as adopted. Dr. Remsen raised the question cf having an Auditing Committee and moved that the accounts of the Commission be audited by an outside, disinterested Committee. He suggested the names of l/essrs. Douglas H. Thomas and Frank IT. Koen, v/ho, together with an expert accountant v;hom these two gentlemen shall suggest, shall constitute and Auditing Committee to gc over the books and accounts and report their findings to the Cormvisjsicn, the auditing committee also to recommend such method of keeping the accounts of the Commission as nay to them seem wise and proper; it being understood that the expanse or compensation of said expert accountant is tc be agreed on between this Commission and the expert accountant. Dr. Clark seconded the motion and it was adopted.
