Ho payment for services unless the person is employed by the Commission As to transfers of parties or prsons from Road Commission to Geological Survey Mr. Button brought up the question of auditing the accounts of the Commission, and the matter went over to a later meeting of the Commission when all the members would be present. Mr. Shoemaker moved that Mr. William H. Smith be employed by this Commission as Chief of Party, at a salary of $83.33 per month. The motion «s seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. Mr Shoemaker moved that Mr. G. H. Sykes be employed by this Commission as Chief of Party, at a salary of $83.33 per month. Governor Crothers seconded the motion and it was adopted. Mr. Shoemaker moved that Mr. John PJwell, Mr. Henry P. Hopkins and Mr. John Williams l>e employed by this Commission as Rodmen, at a salary of $40.oo per month each. The motion was seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. Governor Crothers moved that Mr. William F . Lankford and Mr. Pere L. Wickes be employed by this Commission as Instrument-men, at a salary of $50. oo per month each- The motion was seconded "by 1'r. Hutton and adopted. Mr. Hutton noved that the bill of Mr. Lankford for services during August, amounting to $67.50, be approved and ordered paid. Governor Crothers seconded the motion and it wae adopted. Mr Shoemaker moved that the bill of Mr. Wm. H. Smith, for ex-pensesin survey work, amounting to $65.oo, be paid. The motion v/as seconded by Governor Crothers and adopted. The Chairn.an presented a numtar of bills for expenses, and on motion of Governor Crothers, seconded byKr. Governor Crothers moved that hereafter no person be paid for any services rendered to this Commission unless he be first employed by this Commission and his name entered on the records as one of its employees.
