Page 13. Tentative location of road in Somerset Co. Tentative location of Road in Anne Arundel Ccunty. Neceayary surveying instruments for the engineering departmt Chief Engineer authorized to purchase the surveying instruments Services of necessary field men. Chf Engr's recommendations. List of eligibles recommended by the Chief Engineer. the River to Pocomoke to the Somerset County Line, as far as the funds apportioned to this County will permit. It was moved seconded and carried that the Somerset County Road "be tentatively located from the Wicomico County Line near Alien, to Princess Anne, to Kings Creek to Westover. Westover to Costen, to the Worcester County Line near Pocomoke. From Westover, via Harold, Tull's Corner to Crisfield. The Anne Arundel County Road, upon motion, duly seconded, was tentatively located from the County Line near Owings. through Friendship, Mt. Zion, Birdville, Davidson-ville, Rutland, Chesterfield, St. Stephen's Church, Millers-ville, Glenlmrnie, Brooklyn From Chesterfield to Annapolis. Fro;:. Davidsonville to the Prince George's County Line near Hardesty. The question of the necessary surveying instruments being "brought to the attention of the Commission by the Chief Engineer, Mr. Crosby reported that he would need at least four surveying instruments. He further stated that he knew where he could procure three second-hand instruments at a reduced cost than if purchase new, whereupon Mr. Shoemaker moved that the question of purchasing four surveying instruments l>e referred to the Chief Engineer with authority to purchase the same to the best possible advantage. The motion was seconded by J/r. Hutton, and adopted. The Commission then took up the question of securing the services of the necessary field men for the surveys in the Counties. After hearing the recommendations of the Chief Engineer on the subject, Governor Crothers moved that Six Rodmen, Two Instrument Men and One Chief of Party be employed by the Commission. The motion was seconded by Mr. Shonnaker, and adopted. The Chief Engineer recommended the appointment of the following men from the list of eligibles, viz: Chief of Party: James M. Douglas.
