The members of the Maryland State Roads Commission met this Thursday, April 30, 1908, at 10 o'clock A.M., at Hotel Rennert, Baltimore, Maryland, for the purpose of organizing. Each member of the Coi^m^ssion was duly sworn in by Governor Austin L. Crothers, as required under the provisions of Chapter 141 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1908. Present: Governor Austin L. Crothers of Cecil County, Dr. Ira Remsen of Baltimore City, Dr. Wm. Bullock Clark of Baltimore City, Mr. John M. Tucker of Cecil County, Mr. Samuel M. Shoemaker of Baltimore County and Mr Francis C. Hut-ton of Montgomery County. The Commission organized by the election of Mr. John M. Tucker, of Cecil County, as Chairman, and Mr. John C. Bowerman, of Baltimore City, as Secretary. On motion of Dr. Remsen the Commission adjourned to meet at the offices of Dr. Remsen, McCoy Hall, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Wednesday, May 6th 1908, at 10.30 o'clock A.M. Pursuant to notice the State Roads Commission met at the offices of Dr. Remsen, McCoy Hall, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, at 10.30 o'clock, Wednesday morning, May 6th 1908. . The minutes of the previous meeting held at Hotel Rennert, Baltimore, at which meeting the Commission organized, were read and approved. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Governor be directed to draw from the fund appropriated for the State Roads Commission the sum of Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), and that all checks for the payment of money by this Commission be signed by the Chairman of this Commission and by Dr. Remsen and Mr. Samuel M.
