JEAN HARVEY BAKER

Jean Baker is the Elizabeth Todd Professor of History at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland. Professor Baker has received several awards, including Honorary Degrees from Illinois College and Hood College.

She has also served on the Pulitzer History Jury and the Pulitzer Biography Jury in 1993.

In 1987 she published Mary Todd Lincoln: A Biography, and in 1993 The Stevensons:

Biography ofan American Family.

She is currently working on a revision of Civil War and Reconstruction with David Donald and Michael Holt as well as a book on the suffrage movement.
