Annapolis May 31.1905
The Commission met in the Government
House
at 2:30 p.m. There
were present The Governor,
The Comptroller, the Treasurer,
Hon Spencer C. Jones,
Hon Saul D. Schmucker, Hon
Peter J. Campbell
and T.J.C. Williams.
The Architect, Mr Josias
Pennington was aso present
and made a
report upon the furnices
and the progress of
the work.
It was ordered on motion
of Judge Schmucker
that not exceeded $450 be
appropriated for
carrying the Electric lines
into the cellar and
the Architect was ordered
to have the work
done.
The Governor reported that
he had taken
up the matter of the restoration
of the
Old Senate Chamber to its
original form
and that he had appointed
an advisory
committee to make a complete
examina-
tion. The Governor
submitted a report
of the cost of the proposed
improvement
made by a subcommittee consisting
of Mr. Josias Pennington
and J. Appleton
Wilson.
This report was read by
the Governor.
Upon motion of Senator Jones
the Governor's
action in approving this
advisory commission was approved.
Upon motion of Gen Vandiver
the report
of the subcommittee was
adopted and
all the work recommended
was ordered to
be done without delay.
Upon motion of Gen Vandiver
the architect
was directed to buy marbe
that may be
necessary for the completion
of the interior
work of the Annex, elsewhere
if it shoud
happen that the contractor
has not
furnished the full amoun
according
to his contract before the
1st day of August
1905 [?]. The said
marble to be bought
and charged to him on his
contract.
The Architect was directed
to have
blinds placed over the windows
at the
Court of Appeals Building
for the Library
and the Clerk of the Court
of Appeals.
