        To the Hon. Committee: Board of Public
Works -
                                                The following proposals
for improvement of the State House Grounds
and surroundings at Annapolis are made by
Francis B. Mayer and Milton E. Faul in con-
formity with plans submitted by the former.

I                                        I.
Removing present pavement adjoining State-
House Grounds and widening pavement on
opposite side to 12 feet where practicable.

                                II.
Removing necessary Wall and Curbing around
grounds and rebuilding Wall & resetting Curbing
where necessary.

                                III.
Removing Prom-Railing with exception
of portions adjoining  Francis St. and South
Entrance.  We offer five hundred dollars for
Railing which is removed.

                                IV.
Paving street with good cobblestone pavement
and changing grade near Governer's gate a low
as possible without interference with adjoining
property.

                            V.
Raising Terrace to proper grade and
paving same with brick or patent cement
pavement.  An iron railing is placed
around front edge of Terrace according to
plan.

                            VI.
Steps to be of stone or iron rises with wooden
treads.

                            VII.
Grading walks and grounds, soiling,
sodding, and transplanting trees and
shrubbery.  Walks to be shelled and gravelled,
and all necessary drainage to be provided
for.

                            VII.
All old materials to be used by contractor.

                            IX.
Prom scroll work to be placed at gates of
necessary.

                               X.
The work to be done under the direction
of a competent Civil Engineer and the
entire work to be completed in accordance
with plans submitted in a thoroughly
workmanlike manner for the sum of Fifteen
Thousand dollars. ($15.00) deducting $500 for old railing-

@$3.00 per square yd. There being about 3000 yds. would cost $9000.00
