The  Task Force  believes  that  "The Commission  to  Coordinate the Studyj   Commemoration^   and   Impact   of Slavery's   History   and   Legacy in Maryland" can best achieve its goals in working with a    number of agencies  and  departments  within  State  government,  as  well  as others, but with its own budget and staff, and that it should have no duties  in the running  of any museum or similar institution that could be a distraction.    The Task Force operated with an understanding that slavery and its  legacy is an issue affecting all Marylanders.
