87 Century Project, is passionate about what this program can give children through hands-on, experiential activities. Archaeology and history will become exciting, real-world adventures, and an opportunity for CH to share its educational resources with the community. CH archaeologist, Damian Gessner, will direct the program to begin in September, 1999. Recommendation The Task Force recommends the establishment of a commission to work with grass roots organizations, foundations, and government agencies to publicize and seek State and private support for youth development initiatives relative to the history and legacy of slavery. The Task Force recommends adequate funding of a publication to be used as a resource manual of pedagogical and curriculum development models whose periodical updating will be an oversight responsibility of the commission.
