Collier, a builder, had remodeled houses on 30th Street and done work at Volta Place.
Q« Tell us what you did at Volta Place. A. Well, this sketch shows the house before 1946. The photograph shows the house after the remodeling. We built an addition for a maid's room. You can see the windows we put in. We put a concrete slab on top of the maid's room, covered it with flagstone, and built an iron railing around it.
