Born Thomas Melvin Underwood, December 30, 1856.  Son of John H. and Mary Ann (Farrell) Underwood.  Married Annie Lederer in 1880.  Died February 21, 1927, in Accokeek, Maryland.  Buried at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Piscataway, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Prince George's County, 1898. Republican.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Farmer. Sheriff, Prince George's County, 1895-97. Election Supervisor, Prince George's County.
