Washington Wilkinson (1845-1917)

Biography:

Born on March 27, 1845 in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Son of Rebecca Greenwell and Washington Wilkinson. Attended local public schools. Died, October 4, 1917, in Hollywood, Maryland.

Long-time political figure and party boss in St. Mary's County. Known as "The Tall Sycamore of St. Mary's." Served in House of Delegates, 1884, 1888, and 1914. Served in State Senate 1890-1901, and again from 1910-1912. Served as floor leader. Republican.
