Biography:

Born, January 5, 1910. Educated at McDonogh School, Baltimore. Received B.A., Johns Hopkins University, 1929. Graduated LL.B, University of Maryland Law School, 1932. Admitted to the Bar, December 3, 1932. Married, Anne Barnes Nice; three children, Harry W. Nice III, Mary Elizabeth E. Nice, Deeley K. Nice, Jr. Died November 23, 1956.

After admission to Bar, entered private practice with firm of Dickerson, Nice & Sokol, composed of future Judge of the Supreme Bench Edwin T. Dickerson and future Governor of Maryland Harry W. Nice. Named Chief Judge of the Peoples Court at just twenty-six years old, 1936. Appointed Chief Judge of Appeals Tax Court of Baltimore City, 1943. Unsuccessful candidate for Mayor, Baltimore City, 1947. Chair, State Tax Commission, 1951. Appointed to Supreme Bench, November 22, 1954; elected to full term a few days before his death.
